刘植的父母都是宁波大学英语系的教授、副教授。
从幼儿园开始，刘植就跟着父母大量阅读英语绘本，初高中以后，他更是独立翻阅了大量各类英文原版书籍。此外，从小学开始，他就保持了每天大声朗读英语的好习惯，培养英语口语的输出能力。他不仅有非常出色的英语能力，而且具备相当强的逻辑能力和思辨水平。
对于刘植同学最终夺得全国冠军，他的指导老师周俊英坦言并不意外。刘植从小就展现出极强的英语演讲天赋和水平，同时在学习上非常自律和专注，在日常生活中注重积累和思考。虽然现在刘植是高一的学生，但已经在SAT考试中取得了接近满分的骄人成绩。

China is big. China has a vast territory, a huge population and a vibrant economy. But China is also very small. It breaks down into its amazing people, incredible places and diverse cultures. This is the authentic China.
The Chinese people are singing. From 清明上河图, a Chinese painting entitled "Upon the River During the Qingming Festival" we can hear their songs. Such a giant painting is elaborated with stories and details of ordinary people. We can see the boatmen, the street sellers, and even fast-food deliverymen are present, catching their rhythm of their life. In modern-day China, similar melodies are heard. We see people squeezing in subways, fast-food deliverymen gliding through cities and towns, and street sellers crying their wares. It is the ordinary people that build their lives, that contribute to this nation, that make this nation great. This is the real China.
The Chinese cities are singing. When giant cities prosper, small towns are also finding their value and vigor. Zibo attracted millions of visitors with its heart-warming barbecue story. Tianshui offered its honest taste with its spicy hotpots, and tons of tourists are flooding into Ha'erbin to catch the original glimpse of this ice and snow world. The tranquil small-town life is increasingly recognized. This is also the real China.
The China cultures are singing. Hanfu is appreciated as an icon of China, both domestically and internationally. When we see media bloggers wearing hanfu on the streets of Paris, we feel this sense of identity deeply rooted in our heart. Erhu, guzheng, and Peking Opera are also widely recognized by the international community for their aesthetic value and artistic taste. This is still the real China.
And Chinese daily lives are singing. The day wakes up with the frizzling, sizzling and chopping in the kitchen, the day buzzes with the humming, rumbling, whistling and whooshing of transportation, and the day quiets down with the sounds of lights going out. This chorus of moments is still the real China.
So when all the songs of the people, places and cultures gather together, from the deepest seas to the highest mountains, from the narrowest rivers to the widest valleys I hear the voices, the voices that echo right across this nation's sky, the voices that all chant and say the one single thing: this is the real China.
So take a deep breath, ladies and gentlemen, and please listen.

中国很大。中国有辽阔的版图、众多的人口和蓬勃发展的经济。然而，中国也很小，组成中国的是她令人惊叹的人、美妙绝伦的地和多元不同的文化。这是真实的中国。
中国人民歌唱着。从《清明上河图》这一幅中国画作品中我们可以听见他们的歌唱。如此壮丽的画卷中，细致地描绘了普通百姓的故事和细节。我们可以看见船夫、街头小贩乃至外卖小哥抓住他们生活的节奏。在现代中国，我们也能听到类似的旋律。我们看见人们拥挤在地铁中，外卖小哥穿梭于城市之中，街头小贩叫卖自家的商品。是这些平凡的人们筑起了他们的生活，为我们的国家作出贡献，使我们的国家成为伟大的国家。这便是真实的中国。
中国的城市在歌唱。大都市繁荣发达，小城镇也逐渐找到了自己的价值和活力。淄博以温情的烧烤故事吸引了无数游客，天水以麻辣烫展现了其诚实的味道，而哈尔滨更是吸引了源源不断的游人去看那新颖的冰雪世界的景致。宁静的小城镇生活越来越得到人们的认可。这同样是真实的中国。
中国的文化在歌唱。汉服得到人们的欣赏，不仅在国内、在国际上也成为中国的象征。当我们看到媒体博主在巴黎街头穿着汉服，我们感到，这一种身份感深深地扎根在我们心中。二胡、古筝和京剧也因其美学价值和艺术品味而广受国际认可。这依旧是真实的中国。
中国的日常生活在歌唱。一天的日子在厨房中滋滋喳喳和砰砰乓乓的声音中醒来，白天伴随着交通工具的嗡嗡声、隆隆声和呼啸声，夜晚则随着灯光渐渐熄灭的声音而沉入宁静。这些琐碎时刻交织出真实的中国。
当人民、地方和文化的歌声汇聚一处，从最深的海洋到最高的山峰，从最狭窄的河流到最广阔的山谷，我听见那些声音，那些回响在祖国天空中的声音，那些声音都歌唱着，告诉我们一件事情：这才是真正的中国。
